MTC Technologies employs Adtran’s broadband platform to expand gigabit FTTH services

Adtran has announced that MTC Technologies is using its Total Access 5000 (TA5000) 10Gbit/s fibre access platform to provide gigabit broadband services to customers in Southeast Iowa. Also featuring Adtran’s optical network terminals (ONTs), the new solution enables MTC Technologies to expand its footprint and deliver symmetrical, fast connectivity to more subscribers, including those in hard-to-reach rural locations. Nokia deploys private LTE for Xcel Energy’s grid modernisation in United States

Nokia announced that it will work with U.S. energy provider Xcel Energy to help modernise grid operations to better serve customers across the company’s eight-state service area. The project will include the deployment of Nokia private LTE (long-term evolution) network technology, helping support secure, data connectivity and new levels of automation. Broadband Forum updates standards for smart home devices

The Broadband Forum announced that it has launched an important upgrades to two standards. This will enable internet service providers (ISPs) to manage individual smart home applications separately, without the need for complicated firmware updates.

Nielsen has announced a multi-year data license renewal agreement with Comcast Corporation, a media and technology company. Under the terms of the agreement, Nielsen will expand its use of Comcast’s return path data (RPD) in its national and local television and cross-media measurement services via its de-duplicated, audience measurement solution, Nielsen One. ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) unveils a new report developed by its reconfigurable intelligent surfaces group (ISG RIS). ETSI GR RIS-003 explores communication models that offer a trade-off between electromagnetic accuracy and simplicity for performance evaluation and optimisation.
