Adtran has announced that MTC Technologies is using its Total Access 5000 (TA5000) 10Gbit/s fibre access platform to provide gigabit broadband services to customers in Southeast Iowa. Nokia announced that it will work with U.S. energy provider Xcel Energy to help modernise grid operations to better serve customers across the company’s eight-state service area. The project will include the deployment of Nokia private LTE (long-term evolution) network technology, helping support secure, data connectivity and new levels of automation. ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) unveils a new report developed by its reconfigurable intelligent surfaces group (ISG RIS). ETSI GR RIS-003 explores communication models that offer a trade-off between electromagnetic accuracy and simplicity for performance evaluation and optimisation.
