ABB to acquire Siemens low voltage NEMA motor business

Zurich, Switzerland – ABB announced it has signed an agreement to purchase Siemens’ low voltage NEMA motor business. With manufacturing operations in Guadalajara, Mexico, this acquisition provides a well-regarded product portfolio, a longstanding North American customer base, and an experienced operations, sales, and management team. The business employs around 600 people and generated revenues of approximately [$63 million (€62.01 million)] in 2021. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Semtech set to acquire Sierra Wireless for enterprise value of about $1.2bn

02 August, 2022 – Camarillo, United States , & Vancouver, Canada – Semtech Corporation, a global supplier of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, and Sierra Wireless, Inc., a Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, announced a definitive agreement under which Semtech will acquire all outstanding shares of Sierra Wireless for [$31 per share (€30.43 per share)] in an all-cash transaction representing a total enterprise value of approximately [$1.2 billion (€1.18 billion)], subject to customary closing conditions. Industry IoT Consortium publishes Trustworthiness 2022 edition of Journal of Innovation

Boston, United States. 27 July, 2022 – The Industry IoT Consortium (IIC) published the newest edition of the Journal of Innovation  (JoI) entitled, Trustworthiness 2022. This volume of the JoI provides additional insights about trustworthiness, and the role of software bill of materials SBOMs, supply chain security, digital twins, and the new ISO/IEC 5055 standard can play in obtaining trustworthy IoT systems. We plan to use this information to create an IIC Trustworthiness practitioner’s guide that builds upon and extends the previously published IIC Trustworthiness framework foundations. (more…)
