The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the global industry body dedicated to driving the seamless and interoperable service experience of Wi-Fi across the global wireless ecosystem, has today released a set of “L4S Implementation Guidelines” for Low Latency, Low Loss and Scalable (L4S) throughput over Wi-Fi networks. The guidelines demonstrate how demand for low-latency Wi-Fi applications such as cloud gaming, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be achieved with an explanation of implementation approaches, Access Point (AP) tests and simulation studies for L4S AP performance in different scenarios.

The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) has released an updated “Operator Managed Wi-Fi (OMWi): Reference Architecture and Requirements” technical report. This update includes enhanced technical and operational requirements and introduces open-source, OMWi-compliant implementations from partners such as the prpl Foundation and RDK-B. It delivers a comprehensive framework for deploying and managing residential Wi-Fi, addressing global operator needs through the integration of key standards and open-source platforms. (more…)

DZS and AXON Networks have announced the acquisition of DZS’ Service Assurance and WiFi Management software portfolio by AXON Networks. The all-cash, US$34 million transaction transfers all CloudCheck, Expresse and TruSpeed assets and IP patents to AXON, along with a skilled development team and long-time marquee customers. These products will be integrated into AXON’s Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) portfolio, while DZS will focus its development and go-to-market strategy on its Networking, Connectivity and Cloud Edge portfolio.
