Keysight Technologies has introduced the E7515W UXM Wireless Connectivity Test Platform for Wi-Fi, a network emulation solution delivering signalling radio frequency (RF) and throughput testing for devices using Wi-Fi 7, including 4×4 MIMO 320 MHz bandwidth.
Developed by the IEEE as the 802.11be standard, Wi-Fi 7 is the next generation of Wi-Fi wireless communications technology, promising significant performance advancements and improvements over the previous Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6 standards.
As with any new wireless technology, device makers must perform signalling RF and throughput on clients and access points (AP) to ensure Wi-Fi 7 devices work as intended when deployed. However, existing solutions require complicated test setups with a large number of Wi-Fi devices and network channels to emulate real-world operating conditions.
The newest Keysight UXM Wireless Connectivity Test Solution addresses this challenge by giving RF engineers a solution that simplifies Wi-Fi 7 testing and provides a physical (PHY) layer and media access control (MAC) layer insights.
“With the introduction of the E7515W solution, Keysight is expanding the market leading UXM 5G Network Emulation Solutions to simulate Wi-Fi devices and traffic to cover new use cases from the latest IEEE 802.11be standards,” said Mosaab Abughalib, a senior R&D director and general manager for Keysight’s Wireless Test Group. “The E7515W solution enables faster test setups with less complexity and delivers better load and bandwidth performance to help Wi-Fi 7 device makers accelerate time to market.”

Anritsu Corporation has announced that the first non-terrestrial networks narrowband Internet of Things (NTN NB-IoT) Protocol Conformance Tests have been validated on the 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR powered by the Sony Semiconductor Israel (Sony)’s Altair device.
NTN NB-IoT is a key IoT feature that is useful in cases where the devices need to be deployed in remote regions without terrestrial cell network coverage. This is especially useful for asset tracking in maritime, logistics, mining, automotive, and other areas.
“3GPP Release 17 which is described as the next stage for 5G and LTE, NTN enables new use cases and monetization opportunities for vertical industry segments,” said Kameda Keiji, a general manager of mobile solutions division at Anritsu. “We are proud that our collaboration with Sony enables us to help the industry validate the new features quickly to market and enable certifications in GCF/PTCRB to bring certified devices to enable new applications.”
The conformance tests are defined by 3GPP in TS 36.523-1 corresponding to core requirements in TS 36.331 and have been submitted to 3GPP Radio Access Network Working Group 5 (RAN WG5) by Anritsu.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with Anritsu,” said Christophe Flechelle, GM of France and system engineering director at Sony Semiconductor Israel. “By establishing a certification program for NTN, we’re paving the way for faster integration of crucial satellite technologies into tracking devices and wearables.”
Flechelle added that this collaboration marks a significant step towards technological advancement and widespread adoption in the industry.
