Cyshield, a digital solutions company, selected Thales, a contributor in secure advanced technologies, to launch Egypt’s first-ever eSIM (embedded SIM) connectivity services for consumer and IoT devices. Based in Cairo, Cyshield is supporting Egypt’s four mobile network operators in connecting eSIM devices in the country, optimising the user experience and enabling flexible subscription services for eSIM-enabled smartphones, smartwatches and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Nordic Semiconductor, a global contributor in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, has participated in a 5G NB-IoT trial over a non-geostationary orbit satellite operated by Omnispace, the company redefining mobile connectivity for the 21st century. The demonstration, conducted with Omnispace and provider of satellite communications software, Gatehouse Satcom, marks a key step toward bringing seamless, standards-based 5G IoT connectivity to remote and underserved areas.

Emergent Connext, Inc. has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to build out a rural Internet of Things (IoT) network that extends reliable connectivity across thousands of square miles of unconnected farmland in rural California. Emergent will work with Microsoft’s Airband program and their ISP partner Cal.net to provide access to reliable connectivity to drive Smart Farming and IoT adoption across the region’s farming communities.

The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the global industry body dedicated to driving the seamless and interoperable service experience of Wi-Fi across the global wireless ecosystem, has announced the results of Wi-Fi 7 industry trials in Enterprise Scenarios, conducted in collaboration with AT&T, CommScope (RUCKUS Networks) and Intel.
