While the UK has started the deployment of 5G networks, the older 2G networks will inevitably face switch-off (or ‘sunsetting’ as it is known in some countries) at some point. MBB Forum, Zürich, Switzerland – Sunrise and Huawei have achieved a downlink top speed of 3.67Gbps with multiple 5G smartphones in one 5G cell in Zürich. It is said to be a new record for Huawei and Sunrise in their joint efforts to improve the 5G experience after single user smartphone speeds earlier reached up to 2Gbps. (more…)
