Eurotech, a provider of rugged and industrial-grade embedded boards and systems, edge computing platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) enablement solutions announced it has joined the Arm Project Cassini Initiative.

To unlock the value of IoT, Arm is committed to investing in and working with the ecosystem on developing platform standards that enable the deployment of cloud-native software stacks across the edge with Project Cassini.

Eurotech has been delivering hardware and software building blocks to deploy embedded systemsedge computing platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for almost three decades. Eurotech has accumulated a vast amount of experience and expertise in hardware, software, and services to address many of the challenges in different IoT vertical markets. Edge computing enables systems to perform data processing at the edge of the network, near the source of the data.

This reduces the communications bandwidth needed between sensors and the central data centre by performing analytics and knowledge generation at or near the source of the data. The enterprise-ready IoT Edge Framework Everyware Software Framework (ESF) is a high-level, multi-platform, and flexible application development environment for edge computers and IoT gateways. Everyware Software Framework bridges the physical world to the digital world.

“We are honored to be a part of the Project Cassini ecosystem and work with the industry leader Arm,” said Eurotech’s CP&MO, Giuseppe Surace, “The tested and validated integration of Eurotech’s IoT Edge building blocks perfectly fits the final goal of Project Cassini, ensuring that customers can leverage the full benefits of proven edge technology, readily available for demanding applications”.

“Project Cassini is designed to unleash edge compute innovation by accelerating the deployment of workload-optimised Arm-based platforms,” said Mohamed Awad, vice president, IoT Business, Arm. “Incorporating Eurotech’s expertise in embedded and industrial systems is another step forward in de-livering the Project Cassini vision of enabling cloud native software across a diverse and secure edge ecosystem.”
