Verizon Connect has introduced Integrated Video, a smart video solution with features that can help customers improve safety and mitigate risk. The AI-powered smart video solution which can intelligently capture and classify video according to the severity of driving events.

This solution will be vital in helping fleet-based business improve safety and mitigate risk. Only relevant and important video will be shown to business owners and managers, meaning they can gain context behind specific driving events in the field, take corrective action in response, and reduce the time they spend manually reviewing footage. Furthermore, machine learning technology is also integrated into the solution, helping business improve driver behaviour and protect their bottom line.

In practice, smart video works by starting recording as soon as an engine is turned on, and continuing to do so until the engine is switched off. The solution then begins to review footage based on driver behaviour triggers, such as hard braking, hard cornering or rapid acceleration, and identifies footage of harsh driving events (such as collisions and dangerous driving behaviour) that require review by fleet managers. Fleet Managers can then review video footage on their mobile or desktop and determine next steps.

Verizon Connect Integrated Video uses artificial intelligence (AI) to capture and classify video according to how severe an event is. It shows only what is relevant and important to business owners and operations managers, as well as using machine learning (ML) to help businesses improve driver behaviour and protect the bottom line. Verizon Connect Integrated Video also provides data insights to help commercial drivers stay safe on the road and protect them from false claims.
