PTC announced that Frost & Sullivan has named PTC’s Windchill product lifecycle management (PLM) solution the product leader in PLM for Digital Transformation in Discrete Manufacturing, North America.

Windchill was recognised for its ability to enhance collaboration; its incorporation of innovative technologies such as IoT, augmented reality, analytics, and artificial intelligence; and for its inclusion of highly-configurable, out-of-the-box capabilities that are easy to deploy and that offer immediate value.

Windchill enables manufacturers to better understand and leverage their product and enterprise data, including information gathered from smart, connected products and machines. With this information, customers can build and manage a digital thread that connects critical functions within their value chains.

“PTC provides its customers the ability to respond quickly to emerging trends and establish a foundation for digital transformation,” said digital transformation, senior industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “The company puts its customers on a fast track to achieving digital transformation by paying close attention to customers’ requirements, determining how to best partner with each organisation on its journey toward digital transformation, and adjusting its solutions appropriately.”

Frost & Sullivan’s global team of analysts and consultants researches a wide range of markets across multiple industries and regions, identifying companies that maintain consistently high standards in product and service quality, innovation, and who have formed deep relationships with their customers. Frost & Sullivan’s 360-degree research methodology offers a view of industry challenges, trends, and issues by integrating all of Frost & Sullivan’s research methodologies.

In its evaluation, Frost & Sullivan highlights PTC’s ability to stay ahead of the latest industry trends, demonstrated by PTC’s combining key technology from its ThingWorx Industrial IoT platform with core PLM capabilities. One such example is the ThingWorx Navigate suite, which enables stakeholders across an organisation to access PLM information from multiple sources, based on user-specific needs. With ThingWorx Navigate, a company’s employees can better focus on doing what they do best: developing, manufacturing, selling, and supporting world class products.

“Faster decision-making and taking action to achieve timely results using PLM data is the foundation of digital transformation. PTC’s Windchill enables companies and enterprises to be agile and to stay aligned with a rapidly evolving business environment, allowing those companies to exploit new growth opportunities efficiently,” continued Mr. Narayanan.

“We are proud to be recognised by Frost & Sullivan as the product leader in PLM for Digital Transformation in Discrete Manufacturing,” said Kevin Wrenn, divisional general manager, PLM Segment, PTC. “PLM is a cornerstone of digital transformation, and this recognition solidifies PTC’s leadership in the industry as well as our continued commitment to innovation in PLM functionality, delivered to our customers through Windchill.”

Windchill and ThingWorx Navigate form a key part of the foundation necessary for driving digital design, product innovation, manufacturing efficiency, service optimisation, and heightened sales and marketing experiences. The powerful capabilities of these products enable organisations to reduce time-to-market, cut costs, and improve quality.
