Equinix data centres to connect Nokia to mobile, IoT and cloud ecosystems

Digital infrastructure company, Equinix, Inc., has been selected as a strategic supplier for Nokia’s Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING) managed service, in a collaboration to bring next-generation edge architectures and services to market. Telefonica’s 5G deployment across Spain to be backed by Nokia

Nokia is to support Telefonica in its efforts to deploy 5G services to 75% of the Spanish population by the end of the year. Nokia announces Vecima Networks to acquire DOCSIS distributed access architecture and EPON/DPoE portfolios

Nokia and Vecima Networks announced plans for Vecima to acquire key, next generation technology and products for cable service providers. Under the agreement, Nokia’s Gainspeed portfolio along with all supporting technology and assets will transition to Vecima Networks. The planned deal is expected to close quickly subject to customary closing conditions. Financial details are not being disclosed. (more…)

Nokia’s Nuage Networks claims first SD-WAN solution for desktop, mobile and IoT devices

Nokia announced a partnership with Asavie to use its SD Edge mobility solution to extend the reach of the Nuage Networks SD-WAN 2.0 solution to include enterprise mobile and IoT devices. Mobile users will be able to seamlessly and securely connect to enterprise clouds and applications without the hassle of using VPN clients on their devices. Enterprise IT teams will benefit greatly from using the same centralised policy and control for mobile access as the rest of the enterprise users and devices based in physical branch offices.
