Private 5G networks are all the rage. At Mobile World Congress last month, IBM and Nokia joined hands to kick off the development of a “seamless, simplified private” 5G managed service offering, while Cisco and NTT announced a collaboration to bring their private 5G services to enterprise customers in selected sectors, says Udo Schneider, IoT security evangelist, Trend Micro.

Cairo, Egypt. 8 March 2023 – Nokia has announced that its OSS/BSS software solutions have been selected by Orange and Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) company owned by the Egyptian government to deliver a wide range of retail and wholesale services for the New Administrative Capital city. Nokia AVA products, including its operations and monetisation software, will be used by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development of Egypt (ACUD) to enable customers to order, activate and pay for utilities and data centre services. Nokia has launched the Beacon 10, its gateway supporting Wi-Fi 6E to provide high-capacity mesh networking. The Beacon 10 is a true tri-band device which can provide Wi-Fi throughput of 10Gbps. Espoo, Finland. 15 February 2023 – Nokia has announced the completion of the DWDM network operating at 600G per wavelength with Viettel, Vietnam’s telecom service provider. The network uses Nokia’s PSE-V super-coherent optical engines (PSE-Vs), transmitting a 600Gb/s channel in the C-band to connect Viettel’s main core sites. This new Data Centre Interconnect solution will enable Viettel to meet future requirements for low-latency, high-capacity, robust network for 5G, Cloud, and growing consumer demand for online video and internet usage. Nokia has announced Kinetic by Windstream is the communications service provider (CSP) to use its application in containers solution. The Arkansas-based operator, which provides high speed broadband services across 18 states, is deploying the new container framework on its Nokia Beacon 6 broadband devices, available to 300,000 customers. Application containers enable the simple introduction of new services remotely from the network.
