pSemi Corporation, a Murata company skilled in the design and development of semiconductor integration, has announced two multi-chip modules featuring dual-channel switches, a PE53230 for 3.3–3.8 GHz and a PE53231 for 3.5–4.0 GHz. Each module contains two switches and two LNAs for high and low band frequencies. The new module portfolio delivers the low noise figure in the industry, at less than 1 dB, enabling receiver sensitivity and performance while handling 20W average input power enabling removal of external circuitry. Huawei, together with Ugandan telecom operator MTN and HIMA Cement Company, has launched the 5G industrial use case in a HIMA cement plant. Offering high bandwidth, low latency, and ability to connect with a high concentration of devices, 5G will enable real-time data transmission in the production area. Boingo Wireless, a provider of wireless connectivity solutions for the U.S. military, has deployed its Wi-Fi at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. The Air Force base, which houses more than 7,000 active military personnel, selected Boingo to design, install and manage a high-bandwidth Wi-Fi network throughout 15 buildings, providing fast connectivity to those living in the dormitories. Keysight Technologies, Inc., has announced that in collaboration with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Riga Technical University (RTU) it demonstrated the 310 GBaud rates using on-off keying modulation and 160 GBaud rates using PAM6 modulation with direct detection system to support 1.6 Tbps applications.
