Iskratel, a European solution provider for digital transformation of industries, and Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia-based provider of ICT solutions, have conducted the first tests of the 5G network they have built together to enable the smart factory in Kranj, Slovenia. Bharti Airtel, one of India’s integrated telcos, has selected IBM and Red Hat to build its new telco network cloud, designed to make it more efficient, flexible and future-ready to support core operations and enable new digital services. Samsung Electronics has announced a demonstration of the first video call on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform using Mission Critical Push-to-Talk, Data and Video (MCPTX, also known as Mission Critical Communications), a communications capability developed for first responders. It was enabled by the successful onboarding, integration and deployment on AWS cloud. This implementation was based on 3GPP Release 14 specifications.

Nokia announced that it has collaborated with Intel on technology advancements for its 5G radio portfolio. The companies have worked closely on the new Intel Atom P5900 processor that combines compute, connectivity and acceleration technologies.
