Semtech Corporation, a high-performance semiconductor, Internet of Things (IoT) systems and cloud connectivity service provider, has announced a key enhancement to its AirLink router portfolio with additional support for Anterix spectrum. Anterix, Inc. is one of the largest holder of licensed spectrum in the 900 MHz band (896-901/935-940 MHz) throughout the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Central to this collaboration between Semtech and Anterix is the integration of the newly standardised Band 106 private LTE band into the ultra-rugged AirLink XR60 5G router tailored to the mission-critical needs of the energy and utility sectors.

Verizon Business has added Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity services from two new partners — Singapore-based operator Singtel and satellite service provider Skylo — to its suite of global IoT offerings. Verizon Business IoT customers can now access wireless services in up to 200 territories worldwide using complementary satellite, roaming and native eSIM services from Verizon and its partners, all conveniently managed through the Verizon ThingSpace IoT management portal.

The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the global industry body dedicated to driving the seamless and interoperable service experience of Wi-Fi across the global wireless ecosystem, has today released a set of “L4S Implementation Guidelines” for Low Latency, Low Loss and Scalable (L4S) throughput over Wi-Fi networks. The guidelines demonstrate how demand for low-latency Wi-Fi applications such as cloud gaming, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be achieved with an explanation of implementation approaches, Access Point (AP) tests and simulation studies for L4S AP performance in different scenarios.

Nordic Semiconductor and Kigen have announced a technical collaboration that will accelerate Massive IoT deployments. The partnership combines Kigen eSIMs, Kigen’s eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM) solution for SGP.32 IoT eSIMs and Nordic’s award-winning nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP). The collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to offer robust, secure, low-power cellular IoT solutions that remove the technical barriers to wireless connectivity and enable rapid scalability of the IoT.
Nordic and Kigen will showcase their innovations at CES 2025, offering visitors demonstrations and in-depth discussions with their engineering teams. CES will be held in Las Vegas, NV, from 7 to 10 January 2025. Nordic can be found on booth #52039 at the Venetian Expo.
