Prophesee closes Series B funding round of US$19m with unnamed electronics giant as new strategic investor

Prophesee SA (formerly Chronocam), inventor of what is claimed to be the first bio-inspired vision system, has closed the initial tranche of its Series B financing round, which will total $19 million (€15.44 million). Led by a new strategic investor from the electronics industry, the round also includes staged investments from Prophesee’s existing investors: 360 Capital Partners, Supernova Invest, iBionext, Intel Capital, Renault Group, and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. Unlicenced low power M2M connections to approach 400 million by 2022, says Juniper Research

A new report from Juniper Research has found that the total number of connections leveraging an unlicenced spectrum to deliver low power M2M connectivity will approach 400 million by 2022. Connections using these technologies, such as Sigfox, LoRa and Ingenu, will rise from an estimated 50 million by the end of 2018, representing total growth of 736%. (more…)
