IP Infusion, a provider of open network software and solutions for wireline and mobile network operators, has announced that Multinet, Pakistan’s premier information and communications solution provider, selected IP Infusion’s OcNOS networking operating system in its nationwide IP upgrade to 3.2 Tbps. This project, based on solutions developed by Telecom Infra Project (TIP), is an Open Optical and Packet Transport (OOPT) project to date. Multinet will be upgrading its transport network that spans the entire country covering more than 120 cities, across more than 14,000 kilometers, and supporting more than 150 million people in the region. One of the re-signalling schemes undertaken in the UK, the Cambridge re-signalling project, will be supported by digital infrastructure provider Telent for its telecommunication needs. The project will improve the reliability of the infrastructure and will therefore provide more certainty of trains running on time.
