CityFibre secures three UK project gigabit broadband rollout contracts

CityFibre has been secured with three new contracts under the government’s £5 billion (€5.82 billion) Project Gigabit programme. These will subsidise the rollout of ‘gigabit capable’ infrastructure to 218,000 rural properties in Norfolk, Suffolk and Hampshire, that would otherwise be excluded from commercial rollouts. (more…)

Viasat, Space Norway unveils two satellites for Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission

Viasat Inc., a global provider of satellite communications, and Space Norway, have announced that the two satellites for Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission, has completed thermal vacuum testing. Biden-Harris administration announces $930mn to strengthen America’s high-speed internet networks

The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced [$930 million (€845.52 million)] to expand middle mile high-speed Internet infrastructure across 35 states and Puerto Rico. Broadcom debuts new RF front end modules for Wi-Fi 7 networking devices

Broadcom Inc has announced availability of its FBAR integrated front end module (FiFEM) devices for Wi-Fi access point (AP) applications, spanning Wi-Fi routers, residential gateways, and enterprise APs. The FiFEM devices incorporate FBAR filter technology to provide 5 GHz and 6 GHz band coexistence and low in-band insertion loss while significantly reducing the bill of materials (BOM) at the RF front end. Additionally, the devices feature non-linear power amplifier (PA) design optimised for Broadcom’s Wi-Fi SoC Digital Predistortion (DPD) operation, enabling up to 40% reduction in RF front-end power. Talkie Communications closes connectivity gap in Maryland with Adtran broadband platform

i3 Broadband acquires Missouri’s Big River Broadband, Circle Fiber

Midwest fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) provider i3 Broadband has closed the acquisition of Big River Broadband, and its wholly owned subsidiary Circle Fiber. The combination will allow i3 Broadband to further expand its fibre footprint to residential and commercial customers across central Illinois and eastern Missouri.
