Essence Security, a part of Essence Group, announced integrating its proactive, smoke-generating intruder prevention solution, MyShield, with global monitoring station software providers. The most recent and notable is EBÜS from German software company Accellence, and American provider COPS Monitoring.
Additional software providers integrated with MyShield include ESI France, Azursoft, Insocam, NXGEN, AlarmControl, Mastermind, Moni, Shrakrak, AlarmSpace, and SoftGuard. As a result of these developments, the availability of Essence’s range of MyShield security smoke solutions will expand across Europe, the U.S., and South America.
Easy to install, MyShield’s battery-powered system includes an integrated motion detector, high-definition video camera to eliminate false alarms, voice announcement and rapid action remote smoke deployment. It utilises cellular IoT (Internet of Things) networks and can be used as a standalone app-based solution or integrated into existing security systems. The low-maintenance device can be easily moved to ensure properties have 24/7 security on demand for reliable protection.
“By partnering with these leading providers, we are making it possible for people around the world to experience the advanced protection offered by MyShield,” Haim Amir, CEO and founder of Essence Group, said in a media statement. “These integrations support our relentless pursuit of excellence in security, ensuring property owners receive the highest level of protection.”
“Working together with Essence Security brings a new level of sophistication to our monitoring capabilities,” said Hardo Naumann, general manager for EBÜS at Accellence Technologies. “MyShield’s real-time intervention capabilities are setting a new benchmark in security response, and we are excited to offer this to our clients.”
“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Essence to bring MyShield’s cutting-edge intruder prevention capabilities to our alarm company clients and their customers across North America,” stated Jim McMullen, president of COPS Monitoring. “With MyShield, security dealers now have access to an innovative security solution that can give their customers peace of mind, knowing our dispatchers will have new tools to deal with intrusions quickly and enhance the potential for mitigating loss.”
The device releases a ‘veil of harmless yet disorienting’ smoke that fills a room in 30 seconds and can help deter intruders by disorienting them, potentially preventing harm to people or property. It provides an additional layer of security for both residential and commercial settings, useful in situations where immediate response is necessary, such as in buildings that are frequently unoccupied or in areas with less staff.
MyShield’s integration with these monitoring station software providers allows global property owners to benefit from its unprecedented level of efficacy and proactivity in deterring intruders while ensuring round-the-clock safety. MyShield’s advanced detection capabilities, real-time video verification and audio warnings, on top of its smoke intervention, enable monitoring providers to deliver swift and decisive responses to security threats, improving overall safety and security for customers.
Also available through these monitoring station software providers is the MyShield Next solution, a variation of MyShield without an integrated camera, for scenarios where visual verification is unnecessary or where existing cameras are already in place. MyShield Next is also offered as a wired device for areas with no LTE CAT-M coverage and integrates through wired input into existing security alarm systems. Highly adaptable to the specific needs of end users and installers, MyShield Next is suitable for various use cases and configurations.

Consumer motivation to participate in residential demand response (DR) has historically been low due to inflexible electricity pricing mechanisms that do not account for individual use. A new predictive home energy management system (PHEMS) addresses this issue with a real-time pricing mechanism. This system customises electricity prices based on end-user energy consumption, thereby motivating consumers to actively participate in DR. Going ahead, it holds the potential to enhance engagement and efficiency in residential energy management. (more…)

Automotive antennas company Harada Industry has teamed with UnaBiz, a massive Internet of Things (IoT) service provider and integrator, to design and manufacture Sigfox 0G technology-based vehicle tracking solution and in-vehicle antenna for the automotive industry.
The collaboration between Harada and UnaBiz involves joint efforts from R&D teams to create a ‘Film-type Vehicle Smart Tracker,’ empowered by Sigfox 0G technology, that can be attached to the windshield of automobiles.
The transparent film tracker will not obstruct the driver’s view, and its placement at the top of the windshield improves the radio wave environment, enhancing Sigfox 0G network reception. This retrofit tracker will be followed by fully integrated Sigfox-based solutions that automotive manufacturers can embed directly during vehicle assembly. Combined with Harada’s advanced antennas, the integrated solution will open a broad range of use cases for the industry.
Micware, a tier 1 in-vehicle platform software provider for automotive control and car navigation systems, and an existing partner of Harada will also be working with UnaBiz to develop the tracking and telemetry software platform.
Harada is located in 13 cities across 9 countries, supporting Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and the Central America markets. At the same time, UnaBiz has networks deployed in over 70 countries worldwide through its global 0G operators empowered by Sigfox 0G technology.
Keigo Harada, executive officer of Harada expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, “It is a pleasure working with the UnaBiz team to combine our expertise in radio communication technologies to advance the automotive sector. Sigfox 0G and its global footprint are powerful, yet simple and elegant LPWAN technology that are straightforward to integrate into our portfolio of vehicle products and antennas. We are committed to leading the way, driving technological innovations that provide the best products and services for our customers.”
“We are excited to work with Harada, a world-class supplier for global automakers as we see more and more Sigfox 0G technology engagements and applications in the automotive sector,” Alexis Susset, CTO of UnaBiz said. “Our automobile OEM customers in Europe and Japan are leveraging Sigfox for asset tracking, stolen vehicle recovery, and telematics. Harada’s antenna knowledge is unique and a key enabler for us to expand globally and deploy solutions tailored to the automotive sector. We couldn’t be more excited to launch such a key collaboration in an industry we look forward to supporting in its digital transformation.”
“Micware is thrilled to collaborate with Harada and UnaBiz, both leading experts in their fields, to revolutionise the future of vehicle tracking and telematics,” Takuma Segawa, executive director of Micware added. “We will contribute our deep knowledge of software and other digital tools to build industry-leading solutions and products to build modern and inspiring experiences for end-users.”
Harada and UnaBiz are set to explore various commercial strategies for the newly developed automotive products, with plans to introduce them to the market by the second half of 2024.

Dryad Networks has announced a partnership with Kinéis, a French satellite operator and global connectivity provider for the Internet of Things (IoT). This collaboration will integrate Kinéis’s direct-to-satellite capabilities into Dryad’s next-generation Silvanet wildfire sensors, opening up new deployment possibilities.
Dryad’s solar-powered gas sensors, equipped with AI, monitor and detect early signs of wildfires by analysing air quality and identifying unique gas patterns indicative of fires. When integrated with Kinéis’ satellite constellation, this network will overcome terrestrial limitations, ensuring near real-time global connectivity.
This synergy enables the early detection of wildfires even in remote areas without terrestrial network coverage, sending critical alerts to authorities via Kinéis’ 25 satellites, thus greatly enhancing emergency response capabilities and aiding in the preservation of natural areas and protection of critical infrastructure.
