FIWARE Global Summit – an open source event for business, policy and technology, organised by FIWARE Foundation and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic in Morocco, will take place for the first time ever in Moroccan capital Rabat on 22-23 May 2025, highlighting the potential of smart and sustainable territories beyond Europe. The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the global industry body dedicated to driving the seamless and interoperable service experience of Wi-Fi across the global wireless ecosystem, has announced the results of Wi-Fi 7 industry trials in Enterprise Scenarios, conducted in collaboration with AT&T, CommScope (RUCKUS Networks) and Intel. The trials, designed to evaluate Wi-Fi 7’s real-world performance, demonstrated significant improvements in throughput, efficiency and latency, highlighting Wi-Fi 7’s ability to support mission-critical enterprise applications such as XR, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and industrial Internet of Things (IoT).

Deutsche Telekom and metr, a provider of smart building solutions, are digitalising over 120 heating systems in multifamily residences of Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn GmbH. metr’s manufacturer-independent Internet of Things (IoT) solution enables remote monitoring and fully automatic optimisation of the systems. Operating data is securely transmitted to the metr platform via Deutsche Telekom’s mobile connectivity, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Tenants of Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn benefit from lower heating costs, and operating processes become more efficient.

Verizon Business has added Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity services from two new partners — Singapore-based operator Singtel and satellite service provider Skylo — to its suite of global IoT offerings.
