Huawei calls upon industry players to work together and move faster to ultra-broadband 5.5G

Bangkok, Thailand – The ultra-broadband forum 2022 raised its curtain in Bangkok, with David Wang, Huawei’s executive director of the board and chairman of the ICT infrastructure managing board, delivering a keynote speech titled Stride to ultra-broadband 5.5G. During this speech, Wang outlined the enormous changes that are set to take place in areas like smart homes, smart campuses, and industrial Internet by 2030. He also made it clear that ultra-broadband 5.5G will be a key milestone on the path to an intelligent world and recommended that the industry take four key steps to accelerate this process. OCP expands collaboration with Linux Foundation to establish a framework for creation of joint efforts

San Jose, United States – Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP), the nonprofit organisation, announced an expanded collaboration with the Linux Foundation (LF), leveraging hardware-software co-design strategy by establishing a framework for creation of joint-effort shared communities and coordinated deliverables. Adding to the collaboration announced in April 2022 for data centre switching efforts on switch abstraction interface (SAI) at OCP and SONiC at LF, the OCP and LF have established a new effort supported by Microsoft and Google called Caliptra, standardising implementation of silicon embedded hardware root of trust security.

Yorkshire Water chooses Netmore’s solutions for smart water metering framework

Stockholm, Sweden – Netmore Group has won the Yorkshire Water framework regarding the delivery, installation and commissioning of smart water meters and LoRaWAN connectivity to Yorkshire Water Services in the UK for all new housing developments. In addition they have been granted a place on the framework for the rollout of Smart meters across the Yorkshire region. The framework agreement covers up to 360Kh households and has an order value of up to [£47 million (€53.63 million)] (approximately 583 MSEK). It will run for a three-year period with a possible extension to another two years and subsequent service provision. The deal further consolidates Netmore’s strong position within LoRaWAN and smart water metering in Europe. Rollout and commissioning of meters and network infrastructure will begin immediately.
