A new study from Juniper Research found that service revenues from low power IoT technologies will exceed $2.6 billion (2.3 billion) by 2024; rising from only $290 million (263 million) in 2019, a growth of 800% over the next 5 years. IoT service provider and first global 0G network operator, Sigfox and Alps Alpine, a manufacturer of electronic products, have signed a Global Alliance Partnership Agreement. As we reported earlier this month, Verizon has been chosen to update Washington State’s Peninsula Light Company (PenLight) power distribution system with Verizon’s Grid Wide Utility Services Intelligent Energy platform. Electricity meters equipped with Verizon cellular connectivity will replace end-of-life meters in the homes and businesses of more than 33,000 PenLight members. (more…)
