InnoPhase IoT and TDK InvenSense have announced an end-to-end sensor-to-cloud platform that combines the Talaria TWO (T2) Wi-Fi SoC and TDK InvenSense’s ICU-30201 ultra-long-range ultrasonic time-of-flight range sensor. The integration provides direct connectivity to the cloud without needing external MCUs, lowers power consumption and total cost of ownership, and dramatically increases battery life. Iridium Communications has announced that the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) accepted Iridium’s request to extend the functionality of Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) into the Work Plan for 3GPP Release 19 as an official Work Item. This will pave the way for Iridium’s satellite service to be accessible via industry standard chipsets, furthering the company’s progress in developing and deploying its newest service, Iridium NTN Direct, over the Iridium Network. 3GPP Release 19 is currently scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. InnoPhase IoT has announced the availability of Matter v1.2 platform combining STM32U5 and its Talaria TWO Wi-Fi solution. The integration of STM32U5 and Talaria TWO, announced previously, enabled ultra-low power sensor-to-cloud IoT solutions. Now, adding Matter v1.2 support enables smart home devices with interoperability across multiple ecosystems, facilitating easy setup and operation and ultimately driving a wider selection of home automation device solutions for the consumer.
