Dallas, United States. 18 April 2023 – DZS has announced that St. Kitts-Nevis Cable Communications Ltd., a local provider of internet and television services, is leveraging DZS Velocity Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) and DZS Helix Optical Networking Terminals (ONTs) to replace its existing legacy Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC) cable network with all-fibre Gigabit Passive Optical network (GPON) capable of delivering gigabit broadband speeds. This network and services transformation is being enabled by longtime DZS partner Lucas Telecom, and will result in significantly increased broadband speeds, service turn-up agility and improved reliability for The Cable’s residential and business customers which include financial services, hospitality, small-to-medium sized enterprise, and educational and governmental institutions.

S&T Iskratel unveiled its Iskratel Innbox X24, a multi-gigabit XGS-PON optical network terminal (ONT) that offers symmetrical upstream and downstream data rates of 10 Gbps. The speed of the internet connection on the ONT is verified by the integrated Ookla speedtest.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has contributed a specification for an edge gateway to the Open Compute Project. Through additional AWS contributions, this edge gateway will also support OCP’s Switch Abstraction Layer (SAI) and thus end users will have a choice of network OS including SONiC or DENT from the Linux Foundation. United States, 13 April 2023 – Silvus Technologies, Inc., a global provider of an advanced wireless networking communication systems announced that United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has secured Silvus a 4-year, $9.9 million (€9.02 million) IDIQ contract for StreamCaster MANET radlios and MN-MIMO waveform technology. As part of the contract award, Silvus has secured an initial $1.75 million (€1.59 million) task order to support CBP’s southern border sectors.
