Myriota, the provider of global satellite connectivity optimised for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, has announced that it has joined the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI). As an ETSI member, Myriota can now help 3GPP define products which add high quality ubiquitous satellite coverage to all cellular IoT markets. By embracing standards as part of their IoT connectivity platform, Myriota will add satellite connectivity alongside existing terrestrial networks using low-cost, low-power off-the-shelf cellular devices and modules.

Borqs Technologies, Inc. has announced that it has completed the sale of its core businesses to Sasken Technologies, Ltd., a global product engineering and digital transformation services company based in India. Included in the sale were all of the Company’s embedded software design and customised hardware manufacturing of products for the Internet of Things (IoT) activities. Price for the sale totalled US$40 million, a portion will be reserved for employees, tax withholding and payments subject to an earnout arrangement linked to performance in the year 2025.

The MIPI Alliance, an international organisation that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries, has announced the appointment of Hezi Saar from Synopsys, Inc. French embedded systems developer InVirtus Technologies has launched its ‘EosFlex’ and ‘EosFlexMini’ asset tracking devices for ultra-low power locationing using Bluetooth LE wireless connectivity. Powered by Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52810 SoC, the compact tags measure just 19 by 31 mm, and are easily attachable to key resources using a self-adhesive backing. Equipped with a photovoltaic (PV) ‘solar’ panel, the tags harness energy from the environment to operate efficiently without requiring battery replacements, even in low-light conditions.

Kigen, a provider in eSIM and iSIM security technology evolution, has received the GSMA Security Accreditation Scheme for Subscription Management (SAS-SM) full certification for its Dublin, Ireland site. The certification pertains to the Kigen eIM solution, which is based on the new GSMA SGP.32 specification version for IoT eSIMs.
