Samsung SmartThings and Google join forces to enhance smart homes with Nest integration

Samsung SmartThings, the provider in smart home automation, announced a partnership with Google, bringing the company’s portfolio of Nest products into SmartThings, one of the IoT ecosystems. Through the integration, Google Nest devices, including thermostats, cameras and doorbells, will be “Works With SmartThings” (WWST) certified, allowing users to seamlessly control their smart homes through SmartThings. VR consumer content revenue to exceed $7 billion In 2025, led by console gamers

A new report from Juniper Research has found that consumer virtual reality content will bring over $7 billion (€5.85 billion) in revenue in 2025, an increase of over 160% on the $3 billion (€2.51 billion) it is expected to generate in 2020. The primary driver for consumer content in this space will be console gamers, which will account for 41% of revenue generated in 2025. (more…)

A new report from Juniper Research has found that there will be almost 13.5 billion smart home devices in active use by 2025, compared to an expected 7.4 billion at year end 2020. IoT can get you back to work

The City of London usually welcomes around 550,000 workers daily. Today that number is closer to 15,000. Why? Because the majority of City workers have to commute by public transportation train, tube or bus to get to work. In the past, says Bart Schouwchief evangelist at Software AG, this meant sitting or more likely standing in a crowded, hot space with no air conditioning (and not enough people wearing masks).
