Skylo Technologies, Rhode & Schwarz partner to boost non-terrestrial network testing services

Skylo Technologies has announced a partnership and ongoing collaboration with Rohde & Schwarz. The vendors are collaborating to set up a device acceptance scheme for Skylo’s non-terrestrial network (NTN). The proven device test framework from Rohde & Schwarz will be used to test NTN chipsets, modules and devices to validate their compatibility with the Skylo test specification. Korea Maritime and Ocean University to offer novel signal design for SWIPT system

Busan, South Korea – Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) is a promising technology to connect and energise low-power devices wirelessly over a long distance. The radio frequency-based technique would thus enable the Internet of Things in the future. However, state-of-the-art low-power SWIPT receivers still consume much more energy for communication than the amount they can harvest, which hinders further development and growth of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) ecosystem.
