Agrology and partners secure around $5mn in USDA grants for climate-smart agriculture

Alexandria, United States – Agrology, a seed-stage climate technology start-up, has announced that the company is one of six partners awarded approximately $5M in funding from the USDA’s Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities initiative. Together the partners will further develop the capacity for growers to quantify climate-smart practices. Agrology was chosen as the partner to quantify regenerative practices in real time due to their MRV platform, ground-truth measurements, and monitoring of greenhouse gasses and soil carbon respiration. Kajeet names Ben Weintraub as its new CEO

McLean, United States – Kajeet, a provider of managed IoT connectivity solutions and private wireless networks, appointed Ben Weintraub as the company’s new CEO effective January 1, 2023. Weintraub previously served as president and COO, during which time he helped lead the company’s significant growth and developed a streamlined approach to business. Weintraub succeeds Daniel Neal, who together founded Kajeet in 2003. Neal will now serve as executive chair of the board for Kajeet. This announcement aligns with Kajeet’s 20th year in business. NTT DATA, Valeo, Embotech form consortium to deliver automated parking solutions

Las Vegas, United States – NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services provider, Valeo, and Embotech, a software scale-up for autonomous driving systems, have announced to provide automated parking solutions. UBILITE hires Peter Gammel as a new CEO

UBILITE has announced that Peter L. Gammel has joined the company as its new CEO. Mr. Gammel most recently held the position of vice president and CTO of the Mobile and Wireless Infrastructure Business Unit at GlobalFoundries. Previously, he was the CTO of Skyworks Solutions, Inc. and also served as CTO and vice president of engineering at SiGe Semiconductor before its acquisition by Skyworks. Prior to SiGe Semiconductor, he was vice president of engineering at Renaissance Wireless and CTO at Advance Nanotech and for Agere Systems’ Analogue Products Business. Smart electricity and water meters in Dubai increase 10-fold in seven years

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that Dubai’s population benefit from 2.1 million smart electricity and water meters. This is part of DEWA’s efforts to develop smart and advanced infrastructure in accordance with the highest international standards. The number of smart meters has increased from 200,000 in the first phase which was completed in January 2016 to 2.1 million meters currently. (more…)
