Nordic Semiconductor, a global contributor in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, now offers support for Samsung’s SmartThings Find SDK across its next-gen nRF54L15 and nRF54L10 wireless SoCs, as well as its widely adopted nRF52840 and nRF52833 SoCs. This software-level integration enables developers to build advanced location tracking solutions, using Nordic’s ultra-low power wireless technology and Samsung’s global SmartThings ecosystem.

Samsung SmartThings Find SDK is a development toolkit designed to enable device manufacturers and developers to integrate location-tracking capabilities into their devices, without building everything from scratch. The SDK works across various device types, reducing development complexity, while comprehensive documentation and robust technical support ensure developers can easily resolve issues that may arise. For end users, SmartThings Find provides peace of mind and convenience by ensuring they can locate lost or misplaced devices using the SmartThings ecosystem. For Nordic Semiconductor devices, the ‘SmartThings Find SDK’ is delivered as an add-on to the nRF Connect SDK.

“SmartThings Find SDK support on Nordic’s market-leading wireless SoCs marks a major step forward in simplifying and scaling location tracking solutions,” says Oyvind Strom, the EVP of short-range at Nordic Semiconductor. “We’re giving developers a powerful combination: Nordic’s proven ultra-low power wireless performance and seamless access to Samsung’s global IoT ecosystem. This unlocks new possibilities for innovation in tracking devices—whether for consumer, industrial, or logistics applications.”

“Nordic’s solutions provide strong performance in low power, high connectivity applications, making them ideal for location-tracking devices,” says Jaeyeon Jung, the executive vice president and head of the SmartThings team at Samsung Electronics. “This collaboration will not only expand the SmartThings ecosystem to more compatible devices, but customers will benefit from easier device management, enhanced security, and an expanded ecosystem.”

Developing SmartThings Find-compatible devices, requires participation in Samsung’s SmartThings Find Partnership Program, available only to registered Samsung partners who wish to commercialise. For more information, please contact your local Nordic sales representative, or go here.
