F-Secure partnership programme simplifies connected home security

Helsinki, Finland. 17 October 2022 – The need to secure connected homes has never been greater, yet consumers have few convenient options to quickly secure all their families’ essential devices. The new F-Secure SENSE Partner Programme helps makers of Wi-Fi routers and gateways increase value by offering protection for the entire connected home in the simplest possible way.

“The number of internet-ready devices in our homes keeps increasing every day,” says Dmitri Vellikok, vice president of network security at F-Secure. “However, the lack of ‘out-of-the-box’ solutions to secure connected homes and the people inside them is making consumers anxious.”

More than half of all consumers, 58%, expressed concerns about the security and privacy of their Internet connected devices, an F-Secure survey found.* That number rose to two out of three, 67%, for those who perform at least some of their job at home.

“The need to restore a sense of security and privacy in connected home presents a growing opportunity for Wi-Fi router and WiFi management companies. With their technology as a platform, these organisations can offer a powerful and centralised way to secure every connected device in the home with a flick of a switch,” says Niko Kettunen, senior manager, partnership programmes. “Best of all, customers are practically begging their trusted providers to offer these services.”

Nearly all consumers get their home router from their internet service provider, and more than three out of five consumers, 64%, report that they would prefer to get their internet security from the same provider, up from 60% in 2020.

“Simplified connected home protection with the performance consumers demand requires seamless cooperation between multiple parties,” says Kettunen. “F-Secure leads the industry in acting as the security specialist in collaborations between Wi-Fi router vendors, Wi-Fi management makers, and broadband provider. Our mission is to make this experience as smooth as possible both for consumers and our partners.”

The F-Secure SENSE Partner Program streamlines this complex process every step of the way.

The SENSE app comes as ‘white label’ solution that can be rapidly rolled out with a provider’s unique look and feel. It can also be integrated into a third-party app for secure Wi-Fi management or holistic embedded security experience that offers a wide variety of options to add increased protection for families. Adding security to the home gateway also improves router vendors’ competitiveness by adding the ability to create new revenue streams.

This unique partnership offered through this new program also comes with all the advantages of collaborating with F-Secure, the global leader in the service provider channel with over 170 partners protecting tens of millions of consumers. This includes:

· A flexible business model that supports each unique strategy with a tailored offering.

· Proven marketing and sales enablement that ensures revenue growth.

· Easy integration and certification with a clearly defined process.

· Premium support with fast response times that ensure quality and customer loyalty.

F-Secure will launch the Partner Programme for SENSE at this year’s Broadband World Forum, which takes place 18-20 October in Amsterdam. The company will be available for consultations at booth B5 and Mikko Hypponen, F-Secure principal research advisor, will deliver a keynote “Online Battlefields” on the 19th of October at 10.00 am. Router and Wi-Fi providers can find out more about how to participate in the SENSE Partner program here.
