Europe’s ECC approves decision for satellite to low-power device communications

The LoRa Alliance, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN standard for the internet of things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), has announced that the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) has officially approved the Decision ECC DEC(25)02, confirming the regulatory framework enabling satellite-to-low power device communication with satellites (LPD-S) communications within the short-range device (SRD) 862-870MHz frequency band in Europe. This landmark decision, finalized during the ECC’s June meeting, marks a significant advancement in enabling satellite-based LPWAN IoT solutions, particularly LoRaWAN, across Europe.

Cappagh Browne cuts dangerous driving behaviours by 95% with Samsara

Wastewater services company Cappagh Browne, which serves more than 1.5 million customers on behalf of Southern Water, has reduced dangerous driving by 95% in just one week following targeted safety training powered by artificial intelligence (AI) Dash Cams and GPS-tracking technology from Samsara, the pioneer of the Connected Operations Platform. Before installing Samsara’s smart AI-augmented platform, the business had limited visibility into driver behaviour. OpenSTX foundation launches to standardise next-generation protocol for industrial wireless
