Nokia announced that it will work with U.S. energy provider Xcel Energy to help modernise grid operations to better serve customers across the company’s eight-state service area. The project will include the deployment of Nokia private LTE (long-term evolution) network technology, helping support secure, data connectivity and new levels of automation. The network technologies will back a growing mix of renewable power sources for Xcel Energy and optimise the delivery of electricity to its millions of customers. (more…)

ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) unveils a new report developed by its reconfigurable intelligent surfaces group (ISG RIS). ETSI GR RIS-003 explores communication models that offer a trade-off between electromagnetic accuracy and simplicity for performance evaluation and optimisation.
