Big data and IoT to benefit UK industries through connectivity

The value of big data equity in the UK was estimated at £12 billion a year or 0.7% of the annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2012, writes Mark Wilkinson, the regional vice president for Northern Europe and Russia/CIS at SAS. M2MAPPS: Sigfox has employed license-free spectrum to create a cellular network that is dedicated to M2M and the IoT. The obvious question is why? What is wrong with cellular technology?
