LoRa Alliance brings LoRaWAN to IoT Solutions World Congress

The LoRa Alliance, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN standard for the internet of things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), has announced that it will bring together its extensive LoRaWAN ecosystem as part of IoT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), taking place May 13–15, 2025, at Barcelona’s Gran Via Venue. Under the banner “Building Massive IoT with LoRaWAN,” the organisation will feature a day-long program dedicated to LoRaWAN on May 14. Beyond the stage talks, members will share insights about their success stories as part of several show floor talks, including those from 19 LoRa Alliance member companies who will demonstrate LoRaWAN in Action! in Hall 8 Stand D9.

Deutsche Telekom and metr, a provider of smart building solutions, are digitalising over 120 heating systems in multifamily residences of Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn GmbH. metr’s manufacturer-independent Internet of Things (IoT) solution enables remote monitoring and fully automatic optimisation of the systems. Operating data is securely transmitted to the metr platform via Deutsche Telekom’s mobile connectivity, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Tenants of Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn benefit from lower heating costs, and operating processes become more efficient.

Berg Insight says 14.7 million Europeans used connected care solutions in 2024

Berg Insight has found in its latest research that around 14.7 million people in Europe were using connected care solutions at the end of 2024. The figure refers to users of telecare and telehealth solutions in the EU27+3 countries. Until 2028, Berg Insight forecasts that the number of connected care users will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.8 percent to reach 23.0 million.
