Comcast has signed contracts with Indiana’s Office of Community & Rural Affairs (OCRA) to bring gigabit-capable broadband service to unserved parts of Indiana. The initial finalised agreements will enable Comcast to build to rural, unserved portions of Allen, Bartholomew, Carroll, Cass, Delaware, Fayette, Hendricks, Jennings, Johnson, Hamilton, Huntington, La Porte, Madison, Marshall, Montgomery, Morgan, Porter, Starke and Wayne counties.

Aetheros, a provider of machine-type computing and communications, has announced that its open computing and communications cards for smart metres are now available in North America. The Aetheros Edge Server Router for Meters (AOS ESR-M) and LTE Network Interface Card (AOS LTE NIC) are providing a secure, Linux-based, open computing and communications platform for smart meters. ARC Forum 2023, Digital Twin Consortium (DTC) and OPC Foundation have announced a liaison agreement to accelerate the development and adoption of digital twin-enabling technologies. Kirkland, United States – Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), a trade association that oversees Bluetooth technology, has announced the release of a wireless standard for the electronic shelf label (ESL) market. Until now, ESL systems have relied on proprietary protocols for wireless communication, presenting a potential barrier to global adoption. To address this challenge, leaders from the ESL industry teamed with the Bluetooth SIG to create a scalable, ultra-low power, highly secure ESL wireless standard based on Bluetooth technology. Comcast accelerates the nation’s multi-gig deployment and announced that its latest Xfinity 10G network upgrade will be launched to 10 million homes and businesses by the end of this month. These locations now have the foundational network enhancements in place to begin deploying DOCSIS 4.0, setting the stage for the introduction of new symmetrical multi-gigabit internet options before the end of 2023 that can be delivered across existing networks with less cost.
