Iteris, Inc., a technology ecosystem for smart mobility infrastructure management, has announced it has been awarded a $2.5 million (€2.29 million) contract from the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) to monitor and maintain the San Bernardino Valley Coordinated Traffic Signal System (SBVCTSS) corridors and develop a smart county master plan for all of San Bernardino County. Berlin, Germany. 3 April 2023 — The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is piloting German environmental start-up Dryad Networks’ ‘ultra-early’ wildfire detection technology to improve fire detection speeds. GoNetspeed announced that the city of Waterville and Town of Winslow will soon have access to GoNetspeed’s high-speed fibre internet. Through GoNetspeed’s privately funded [$4 million (€3.71 million)] investment in Waterville and Winslow, more than 7,200 locations will have access to future-proof fibre internet as early as this summer with construction beginning this spring. In efforts to enhance agricultural productivity, improve farmers’ profits, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the sector regionwide, an Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) announced the designation of the National Agriculture and Food Research Organisation (NARO) of Japan as its new centre of excellence on climate-smart agriculture (COE on CSA).
