Deutsche Telekom has built an open connected home platform which was successfully launched in Germany under the name QIVICON in late 2013. The QIVICON platform is available internationally and is already implemented in some European markets. Based on the QIVICON platform, the Deutsche Telekom connected home full service offer is available internationally over a range of options, including under license or as a full service white label offer. Already the foundation for multiple connected home initiatives, the full service offer features an interoperable, expandable and scalable architecture. It provides a fast and efficient approach for companies from all industries to realize their connected home products and services and integrate them into a larger ecosystem. Over 40 partners are part of Deutsche Telekom Connected Home ecosystem, including notable manufacturers, Philips, Osram, Miele, eQ-3, Sonos, Samsung, Huawei, Netamo, Bosch Junkers and many more. In Germany and Austria, Deutsche Telekom has also partnered with leading utilities, including EnBW, Vattenfall, Rheinenergie, entega and eww Gruppe to provide a range of home energy management services designed to meet the needs of consumers and the regulatory environment. In 2014, Frost & Sullivan selected the platform for their European Visionary Innovation Leadership award. In the same year, Analysys Mason stated that of all the platforms it has evaluated it is “the most mature initiative.”

Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies with more than 156 million mobile customers, 29 million fixed-network lines and around 18 million broadband lines (as of December 31, 2015). The Group provides fixed-network/broadband, mobile communications, Internet, and Internet-based TV products and services for consumers, and ICT solutions for business customers and corporate customers. Deutsche Telekom is present in more than 50 countries and has around 225,200 employees worldwide. The Group generated revenues of EUR 69.2 billion in the 2015 financial year – around 64 percent of it outside Germany.
