MAC Solutions extends its range of 19-inch rack mount Ethernet switches with the Korenix JetNet 5428G-20SFP
Korenix has launched a new Industrial Ethernet switch that is suitable for a wide range of industrial automation and transportation (including rail) applications. The product is available in the UK from MAC Solutions.
The new Korenix JetNet 5428G-20SFP is an industrial-grade 19” rack mount Ethernet switch, designed for harsh electrical environments and control room applications, where fibre connectivity is desired directly to the switch rack.
Certified for rail applications under EN50121-4, the JetNet 5428G-20SFP is designed for industrial use, where high port density, performance and flexibility are required. The JetNet 5428G-20SFP operates in the harshest of environments, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +75°C (fanless).
The JetNet 5428G-20SFP is a Layer 2+ industrial Ethernet switch that is equipped with 16 SFP fibre ports, allowing users to mix-and-match fibre types to suit varying applications and distances within a site. In addition, eight 10/100 Ethernet ports are provided for local connections or devices, as well as four 100/1000 RJ45/combo ports for uplink or linking between locations.
For time-critical applications, IEEE 1588 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) is supported, enabling the synchronisation of network nodes within a system.
Cybersecurity functions

Based on the latest high speed switching architecture, the JetNet 5428G-20SFP supports redundancy via Multiple Redundancy Architectures such as Multiple Rapid Super Rings, Dual Homing, Rapid Spanning Tree, ITU-T G.8032 ERPS, etc. When combined with its support for IEEE 1588 PTP functionality, it quickly enables redundant, real time networks.
