This year’s M2M Summit, organised by the M2M Alliance, will take place in the LANXESS Arena in Cologne, Germany on October 11. On 80,000 square metres, visitors of the M2M Summit will get a unique overview of the latest M2M and IoT developments, while also having access to StartupCon.

Now, the M2M Alliance has revealed the program for the event, which includes keynotes from leading experts from thyssenkrupp, IBM, SigFox, Cumulocity and other companies and organisations. The Academic Day will also be part of the event, which attracts experts and users from around the world.

After joining forces with StartupCon, Europe’s largest one-day conference for start-ups and innovation, the M2M Alliance has revealed the program for the 11th edition of the M2M Summit. On the main stage, thyssenkrupp will present its keynote about Predictive Maintenance, highlighting how IoT and M2M solutions can transform the elevator service industry at large – to cut downtime by half and to keep cities moving more efficiently.

Experts from IBM, Sigfox, Cumulocity and other companies will also share their knowledge and latest developments live on stage. The list of topics include “Seamless Security Solutions for the IoT” and “How Industry 4.0 drives the requirement for a Hybrid Cloud and Edge Architecture”. The keynotes and discussions address some of the most pressing issues and challenges many businesses are currently facing.

The Academic Day, organised by Prof. Axel Sikora, will also be part of the M2M Summit. In addition, research projects on the latest M2M/IoT technologies and innovations will be presented and discussed.

Similar to the M2M Summit 2016, young companies will be given the opportunity again to present their ideas and solutions for M2M/IoT technology in the form of a pitch. This start-up pitch will be organised by the M2M Alliance. The winner will get a wildcard to present their pitch again live on stage in the StartupCon arena – with a chance to pitch in San Francisco and win 1 million US Dollar.

The M2M Alliance and StartupCon expect to attract more than 5,000 visitors. As a result, exhibitors as well as the speakers at the M2M Summit can present their latest solutions, ideas and findings to a large and innovative audience. In addition to a wide range of startups, several big names and organisation such as Ford, Toyota, and TÜV will attend the co-located event. “While visitors will have access to StartupCon, the M2M conference and exhibition will take place separately,” says Andreas Fink, chairman of the M2M Alliance.

There will be an exclusive M2M Alliance exhibition area as well as a conference hall where experts and users can experience the latest M2M and IoT developments and technologies. All holders of M2M Summit tickets will have access to the StartupCon activities such as the conference, exhibition, pitches, workshops, and VR cinemas. This way, participants of both events will get the best of both worlds, and will benefit from making new contacts and further lead generation.

“The M2M Summit has a lot to offer to experts and users alike,” says Andreas Fink. “For experts, it is the ideal event to exchange ideas and knowledge with other experts from the M2M and IoT sector, while users get a great overview of the latest solutions, including improved as well as completely new, disruptive technologies that can give them the competitive advantage they are looking for.”

Tickets for the M2M Alliance conference and exhibition and the 4th StartupCon on 11th October 2017 are available for interested founders – including all lectures and workshops – from €19 (for students) to €69. Investors pay €199 and entrepreneurs €249 for access to all lectures as well as workshops and the StartupExpo. Tickets as well as more information are available on www.m2m-summit.com and www.startupcon.de.
